Who is Dennis Nardone

Who is

Dennis M. Nardone#911

Growing up as a young boy in the late 50's and early 60's listening to Doo-Wop and especially Dion DiMucci from the Victrolla of my older brother and sister. I was exposed to the sounds of Harmony and Rock "N" Roll. On the other side of our 5 room apartment in the West End of New Rochelle were the sounds of Sinatra, Martin and Bennett along with the delicious smelling aroma of Sunday morning gravy cooking for the afternoon macaroni.

By the time I got into New Rochelle High School, the Supremes, Beach Boys, 4 Seasons were singing hit after hit. The British invasion came to America and my life changed. My Music, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, the Stones, the Doors, Motown were my sound. I took up the guitar, bought my Fender Telecaster (still have it) from Caruso's Music store on Main St. in New Rochelle in 1967. The "Summer of Love".  I joined a Rock band with John Cacciatore as lead singer, Sal DeRaffele on bass, Bill Lauer on drums, later replaced by Jack DeRosa and myself on lead Guitar. We played the school dances, parties and took part in all those Battle of the Bands. The name of the group was called "the Lott", named after my beautiful English teacher Miss. Delott. (Where is she now!)

Disco came in the 70's, the Music world changed for me. The 80 & 90's brought even more of a change. Getting older and still going to every rock concert I can I knew radio was my "thing".

By 1997 I got my chance. I met the lovely Ms. Tonny and I told her I was going on a local community radio station WVOX 1460 AM from New Rochelle and I will be hosting a talk radio show called "Harrison Live". Tonny offered to help and we soon became partners till this day. Without Ms. Tonny "Harrison Live" would not have been so successful and become an award winning show!
